Where to Get Shipping Boxes and Packing Supplies at the Tucson Gem Show

2026-10-15

Free USPS Flat Rate boxes, on-site UPS and DHL stations, U-Haul box sales, and the nearest post offices and pack-and-ship stores to each 2027 Tucson gem show.

Bought more than fits in your suitcase? Here's where to get boxes, fast.

1. Free USPS Flat Rate boxes

USPS says Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes and envelopes are free when you ship with Priority Mail Flat Rate, and that boxes can be picked up at a local Post Office or ordered on usps.com. Flat Rate boxes ship up to 70 lbs anywhere in the U.S. for one price, which is why rock buyers like them. They can only be used for Flat Rate shipping. See box sizes and current prices.

Packing heavy rocks

  • Dense specimens hit the 70 lb limit before the box is full. Weigh as you go.
  • Wrap each piece and fill gaps so nothing shifts; USPS requires flaps to close normally on Flat Rate boxes.
  • Ship early in your trip, or before your show's closing day, when lines are longest. See shipping by show week.

Locations come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), checked 2026-10-15; distances are straight-line to the nearest major show. OpenStreetMap isn't complete, so there may be closer options. Confirm hours before you go.
