Quartzsite, in La Paz County in western Arizona, fills up with outdoor rock, gem and mineral shows every January. Every date below comes from the organizers' own sites or the Quartzsite Chamber of Commerce. We checked them on October 16, 2026.

Tyson Wells' homepage lists both of its January blocks under "Rock & Gem Show." Its own Sell-A-Rama page and the Chamber treat the Jan 15–24 block as the Sell-A-Rama, a broader show where gems, rocks and minerals sell alongside arts, crafts, antiques and coins.

Tyson Wells gives two street numbers: 121 W. Kuehn St. for its office, and 100 W. Kuehn St. as the show grounds address on its Sell-A-Rama page. The Chamber lists 100 W. Kuehn St. for both shows.

Each show in brief

Tyson Wells Rock & Gem Show. Tyson Wells describes it as a 10-day, 25-acre outdoor show with 396 selling spaces on 2.2 miles of aisle frontage. It covers gems, rocks, minerals, silver and gold smithing, precious metals, and lapidary tools and supplies. Phone (928) 927-6364.

Desert Gardens Rock, Gem & Mineral Show. Desert Gardens' own site lists the show as January 1 – February 28, 9 am – 5 pm, seven days a week. The Chamber's 2026–2027 events list gives the same dates. Its listing on xpopress.com, the vendor directory Desert Gardens links to, says it has free admission, free parking and a food court, and that vendors after February 10 are "transitional," so expect fewer sellers late in the run. Tyson Wells Sell-A-Rama. Another 10-day, 25-acre outdoor show on the same grounds, Jan 15 – 24, 9 am – 5 pm daily, per Tyson Wells.

QIA Pow Wow. The Quartzsite Improvement Association has run the Pow Wow since 1967. The QIA says it now has over 515 spaces and nearly 200 vendors, with about 1,500 – 2,000 attendees a day, and that at least 85% of what each vendor displays must be gem, mineral or jewelry related. Admission and parking are free, with 2 shuttle buses from the parking area and 2 ATMs on site. The QIA also lists the 2028 Pow Wow as January 19 – 23, 2028. Phone (928) 927-6325.

Other January and February events in Quartzsite

The Chamber's 2026–2027 list also includes the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show (Jan 15 – 23, 2027, 9 am – 4 pm, 700 S. Central Blvd), the Desert Drifters Swap Meet at Tyson Wells (Jan 29 – Feb 7, 2027) and the Quartzsite Gold Show (Feb 12 – 14, 2027). The Chamber notes that "event dates and details are subject to change."

Quartzsite to Tucson

The drive is about 240 miles, mostly on I-10 through Phoenix, roughly 4 hours 15 minutes without traffic or stops. That comes from an OpenStreetMap route (OSRM) we ran on October 16, 2026, from Quartzsite's Kuehn St. and Ironwood St. show areas to the Tucson Convention Center (240.0 – 242.4 miles, depending on the start point). Real driving time will be longer with traffic and stops.

The Pow Wow closes January 24, 2027, and Visit Tucson lists the Tucson winter gem shows as January 27 – February 14, 2027, so you can drive over between the two. Is the Quartzsite gem show free?

The QIA says the Pow Wow has free admission and free parking, and Desert Gardens' show listing says it offers free admission and free parking. Tyson Wells' pages don't list an admission price, so check with Tyson Wells.
