What's inside
- Retail dealers in the Exhibition Hall and the Ballroom: minerals, fossils, jewelry, lapidary crafts and related books, all under one roof. TGMS hasn't posted the 2027 dealer list or floor plan yet ("New information coming soon").
- Special and guest exhibits from private and museum collections. Past shows have displayed the Logan Sapphire, the Alma Rose rhodochrosite, the Hooker Emerald and a Fabergé collection, according to TGMS. The 2027 exhibits haven't been announced.
- Competitive exhibits in TGMS display cases, plus educational exhibitors (government and nonprofit) in the Galleria.
- Lectures Thursday through Saturday in the Convention Center meeting rooms. The Arthur Roe Memorial Micromount Symposium is on Friday, Feb 12, and the MicroMineral Room in the Galleria has microscopes and free micro minerals. The 2027 lecture schedule is "coming soon."
- The FM-TGMS-MSA Symposium is in West Meeting Rooms 120/103. TGMS's page lists it for "Saturday, February 14th," but Saturday is February 13 in 2027, so check the schedule once it's posted.
With kids
Children 14 and under are free with a paying adult. TGMS's Junior Education area in the Galleria is run with the University of Arizona's Society of Earth Science Students: kids work through hands-on experiments, go on a mineral "treasure hunt" and take home identified specimens. TGMS's 2027 dealer page says the Jr. Education table is open from 2 pm Friday through 3 pm Sunday.
TGMS also brings thousands of Arizona school students in free on Friday morning (9 am – noon), so expect school groups then. More tips: bringing kids to the gem shows.
Parking
From the Tucson Convention Center's parking page:
- Lot A Garage off Church Ave, Lot B off Granada Ave or Cushing St, and Lot C (surface lot and garage) off Granada Ave
- About 900 spaces for event parking, with accessible parking in each lot
- Cards only: no cash at the parking booths since January 1, 2025
The Convention Center hasn't published 2027 gem show parking rates. Downtown city garages are the overflow; rates, hours and the Convention Center's other nearby lots are in our 2027 parking guide and parking near the Convention Center.
How it fits the 2027 season
TGMS is the last big show of the season. Most of the wholesale-only shows close earlier: AGTA GemFair uses the same Convention Center on Jan 31 – Feb 4, and GJX across Granada Ave runs Jan 30 – Feb 4. On Feb 11 – 14, the free public shows still open include 22nd Street, Kino and several smaller venues; see the 2027 dates guide and the best day to go.

Selling at TGMS
Retail dealers and educational exhibitors are by invitation. TGMS's 2027 Request to Participate form says it is "not a contract or an application." Retail dealer booths are 10 ft deep and 10 – 50 ft long, with drapes, a sign, tables and chairs. Other shows' booth rules are in our 2027 vendor booth guide.
