When should you book a hotel for the 2027 Tucson gem shows?

Which nights to book for the 2027 Tucson gem shows (Jan 27 – Feb 14), the show room blocks that are published now (AGTA, Colors of the Stone, Pueblo's host hotel), and Visit Tucson's room-finding line. Sourced, no guesswork.

Short answer: book as soon as you know which shows you're going to, and check first whether your show has a room block. Visit Tucson lists the 2027 winter gem shows as January 27 – February 14, 2027. Some show room blocks for 2027 are already published, and AGTA calls its block limited and first-come, first-served.

We haven't found a published booking deadline, occupancy figure or price forecast for 2027 from Visit Tucson or the shows, so this page doesn't give one. Everything below is from the shows' and Visit Tucson's own pages, checked October 16, 2026.

1. Pick your nights from the show dates

Each show sets its own dates. Book from the night before your first show day through your last one. Going by the opening and closing dates of the 13 major venues on our venue map:

2. Check for a show room block first

These are the room blocks and host hotels the shows publish themselves:

Pueblo Gem & Mineral Show (Jan 28 – Feb 9, free) Calls the Ramada by Wyndham the show's host hotel. No room rate is published. Contact the hotel: Ramada Tucson, 777 W Cushing St. See the Pueblo 2027 guide.
JOGS (Jan 27 – Feb 7) Its Hotels page lists deals at four airport-area hotels, booked through a JOGS housing coordinator. The page doesn't say which show or year the deals are for, and one mentions a shuttle running Aug 30 – Sep 3, around JOGS' fall show. Ask JOGS whether the deals apply to the January 2027 show. TGMS Main Show (Feb 11 – 14, TCC) Sends visitors to Visit Tucson for "Hotel Accommodations." No block is published. Use Visit Tucson (below).
GJX (Jan 30 – Feb 4; wholesale only) Its FAQ doesn't mention hotels. Book on your own. Downtown options are on hotels near the Convention Center.

3. If you can't find a room, call Visit Tucson

Visit Tucson's gem show FAQ says to call Visitor Information Services at 1-800-638-8350 if you need fewer than 10 room nights, or its Sales Team at 520-770-2166 for more than 10 room nights. It says its team "stays on top of where the available hotel rooms are."

Going by show dates: all 13 major venues on our venue map are open January 31 – February 4, 2027, when the wholesale shows GJX (Jan 30 – Feb 4) and AGTA GemFair (Jan 31 – Feb 4) overlap with the public shows. Visit Tucson lists the whole season as January 27 – February 14, 2027.

Is there an official housing bureau for the Tucson gem show?

How do I get the AGTA GemFair Tucson hotel block?

Register for the show first. AGTA says all registered buyers get exclusive pricing on a limited block of Tucson hotels, first-come, first-served, and that the rooms are only accessible after registering. AGTA GemFair Tucson runs January 31 – February 4, 2027.

When are the 2028 Tucson gem shows?

Visit Tucson lists the 2028 winter gem shows as January 26 – February 13, 2028, and 2029 as January 24 – February 11, 2029.
